Fortnite Season 3 is almost two weeks old, so most players have been able to move around the new locations on the map. We have a few new POIs along with several returning POIs, which means it’s time to discuss some of the best places to land.
For this review, we look at Novos popularity, loot, location, and finally stats. We don’t rely on these stats to fully inform our roster, but it’s hard to deny that certain locations offer players a better chance of winning their game.
We left two of the new POIs off this map for different reasons. The Authority is the new Agency, which means it is likely to be the best place to land for most of Season 3. Since this is the case, there will always be a risk of landing here. You’ll get good loot, but almost every game will include a 50/50.
We left Fortilla off the list due to its location and size. Finding Ocean and its Chug Jug can be a difficult task, along with looting the entire place and securing the vault. Once you have done that, you generally have to walk a long way to the next circle and spend almost your entire half of the game on the move. Both places are strong landing points, but they’re not in the top five, at least in terms of stats, locations, and chances of survival. Catty Corner is a different story, as you will see. Let’s get on the list.
5. Frenzy Farm
Our old friend, Frenzy Farm, remains one of the best places to land on the Fortnite Season 3 map. Other than the water level and built-in Crash Pads, there is very little new about this POI. That is one of the reasons why it is the best place to land, not so many people will dispute it.
Frenzy used to be one of the most popular places on the map in Chapter 2, Season 1. Since then, most of the attention has gone elsewhere, leaving the 19 chests featured here, almost free. Frenzy is also close to the center of the map, making it a consistently short trip to the next circle.
4. The yacht
We turned away from the statistics, for a minute, to talk about one of the largest and most overlooked landing spots on the Season 3 map: The Yacht. The yacht was one of the few points of interest that got a chest upgrade in Season 3. The vault was emptied, but you can still find a chest and a drop in supplies, guaranteeing you a launch pad.
The location is now bigger, which means there is a better chance of looting before having to fight. The area is almost always far away, but there are plenty of motor boats on the new yacht, along with a whirlpool to the west.
The general locations of the teams landing at The Yacht may not be the highest, but that may change in the future. We believe the rotation and the amount of loot make it worthy of a place in the top five.
3. Sweaty Sands
Sweaty Sands is another location, like Frenzy Farm, which is consistently proven to be one of the best places to land, regardless of team size or how you play. There are 36 huge chests in and around the area, and the lack of change in Season 3 has made it one of the least-contested landing points in public games.
Also, you generally don’t have to worry about other equipment rotating towards you once you clear the area. The shark is underwater for now, which means it can take its time and plunder the entire area without worrying about a third-party commitment.
2. Catty Corner
Statistics is a great way to analyze Fortnite’s best landing points, but they don’t tell the whole story. Catty Corner might be one of the most dangerous places to land on the Season 3 map, but it also houses some of the best loot in the game.
Surviving Catty Corner means going out with the Impulse Launcher, the kit’s shotgun, loot from the vault, and any SMG you want. The problem is that this is a large POI with many surrounding places to land. Winning a fight on Catty could mean you are safe for two minutes before another team rotates on you.
Still, if you’re looking for one of the strongest loot in Fortnite Season 3, then Catty is your place. Land here if you want a fight, God-level loot, and you trust your abilities.
1. rickety rig
The rig was one of the victims of the massive flood that hit the season 3 map, but it did not sink completely. In fact, this area houses possibly the best landing point on the map. There are several islands with lots of loot, easy rotation in the form of boats and eddies, and Slurp barrels.
The reason we put Rickety Rig at number 1 is because of the statistics. It is consistently one of the best places to land by average locations, in both Arena and Pubs, along with all team sizes. Winning this location also offers you a guaranteed launch pad in the open vault, one of the only places to find that treasure outside of mythical POIs. After that, you can wait for the Fortilla team to deploy for a chance at Ocean’s Chug Jug and Burst AR.
So there you have it: The best-named POIs in Fortnite Season 3. There are some better places for solos, hands down, like the randomly spawning ship on the map. Most players know about this ship now, and at least two or three opponents will land there in Arena matches.
We’ll have to see how the stats change as the season continues, but for now these are some of the best places to go if you’re looking to win.
