Fortnite Season 3 has already brought us some more toys in the patches after launch, with cars and another new shotgun on the horizon. One of the new additions to the game was a Golden Mushroom, which is a rare way to receive 100 shields.
According to data miner Hypex, there is a 0.001% chance that the fungus will breed in a particular location, putting it on par with Mythic Goldfish as one of the rarest Fortnite items. Finding one of these in a Battle Royale match is going to be a real achievement, as planned.
It is unclear if this mushroom is available in the vegetable boxes around the map, but this would be the only way to get one. All natural mushroom spawns are underwater at the time of writing.
Those who are reading this after the water recedes will be able to find the Golden Mushroom in any of the places that host regular mushrooms. Right now, though, it seems almost impossible to find one in a real game.

You can use your map or go through the painstaking process of generating hundreds of mushrooms on your own map.
The Golden Mushroom will be another mythical Goldfish, so don’t expect to find it in a normal game. 99% of players haven’t found a mythical Goldfish in three seasons, which was intentional on Epic’s part. If you are a fan of a mushroom, you can find it in creative mode.
