FortniteThe latest season is almost here, and it looks like we just got our latest hint on what it might mean. On Friday, the Fortnite Twitter account tweeted a video of the Fortnite logo with an image of Thor in it, and the Marvel logo underneath, along with a few possible Thor-related emojis, and the launch date of the new season.
Unfortunately, as usual, we do not have much more info than the tweet itself about what this could be about. The tweet includes a date, August 27th. That’s the day that Fortnite season 4 is starting. The hamo, lighting, and rainbow emoji that certainly resemble Thor could mean that he will become the superhero skin that players can unlock this season, like Deadpool and Aquaman in the previous two seasons, or it could be something be larger.
Since the Marvel logo is included here with the Fortnite logo, it is possible that this tweet may indicate a Marvel theme Fortnite slapstick, or even an entire Marvel-themed season, but there’s really no way to know until Epic makes an official announcement.
Whatever the connection, this will not be the first time it has made its way into the Marvel Universe Fortnite – or vice versa. Marvel’s first major action for Fortnite was when Thanos arrived in 2018 to promote the theatrical release of Avengers: Infinity War. Since then, Marvel characters have shown up a few times in skins and game modes, but this is usually only for limited engagements. There was even a crossover with the upcoming Marvel’s Avengers video game for the beta a few weeks ago.
One thing that is noteworthy is that this does not seem to be related to the next one Thor: Love and thunder, or even the version of Thor that is in the Marvel’s Avengers match. Instead, the Thor in the Fortnite logo here seems to be directly from the last run of the Thor comic books. In fact, it is most similar to the problem that came up on August 19th. This may even mean that Epic is planning an event around the entire Marvel comic book, instead of the movies as well as games.
FortniteThe new season will start on August 27, which probably means we are in for a few more vague teasers before we figure out what the season is about and how Marvel can fit into it.
