A former employee was arrested in the grisly murder of tech CEO Fahim Saleh, sources told The Post on Friday.
Tyrese Devon Haspil, 21, is expected to be charged with the murder of Saleh, who was found beheaded and dismembered inside his Lower East Side apartment on Tuesday, the New York Times reported.
Haspil worked as Saleh’s personal assistant, and detectives believed they led to his killing after Saleh discovered that he had embezzled him tens of thousands of dollars, the Times said.
Saleh had not reported the alleged theft to the authorities; instead, he negotiated a payment plan with Haspil.
The entrepreneur’s body was discovered Tuesday by a concerned cousin who had not heard from him in days, sources previously told The Post.
He was killed on Monday, and Haspil allegedly hit him first with a Taser and then fatally stabbed him, according to the Times. Haspil then allegedly returned the following day to cut Saleh’s body and clean up the crime scene.
Security footage inside the elevator Saleh entered with his suspected killer shows Haspil using a portable vacuum cleaner to try to cover his tracks, according to the report.
