Former CIA boss John Brennan has been questioned by John Durham for eight hours

Former CIA Director John Brennan sat for more than eight hours of testimony at the CIA headquarters in Washington, where he was questioned by U.S. Attorney John Durham.

Last April, Durham was given the task by the judiciary to investigate the origins of the “Crossfire Hurricane” FBI investigation, which investigated Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election.

President Trump has long held that the FBI probe was a deep-seated witch hunt. The scuffle came just days after former FBI attorney Kevin Clinesmith pleaded guilty to falsifying emails he later used to request a supervisory order from Trump’s foreign policy adviser Carter Page.

Brennan, who led the CIA in President Obama’s second term, has become a devastated Trump critic since leaving public office, and attacks the president frequently in cable appearances. Trump has responded by withdrawing his security delay.

Nick Shapiro, a spokesman for Brennan, said his boss was happy to get involved and “not a topic as a goal” of any criminal investigation. He added that Brennan was only being questioned as a “witness of events being monitored.”

“Brennan welcomes the opportunity to answer Mr Durham’s questions regarding a wide range of intelligence-related activities undertaken by the CIA ahead of the November 2016 presidential election, as well as the Intelligence Community Assessment (ICA) published in early January 2017,” Shapiro said. .
