Ford is now selling its 7.3-liter ‘Godzilla’ V8 as a box engine

The massive 7.3-liter ‘Godzilla’ V8 gasoline engine introduced for the 2020 Ford F-250 Super Duty and F-350 Super Duty has just been released as a box engine by Ford Performance Parts.

This massive engine pumps 430 hp and 475 lb-ft (644 Nm) of torque at 4,000 rpm. It uses a blocky cam design, which means it is more compact than a traditional overhead cam motor and could be a good fit for anyone looking to make an engine change in their vehicle.

Anyone ordering the box engine will also receive the throttle and intake body, left and right exhaust manifolds, production oil pan / cooler, ignition coils and cables, flex plate production, shipping and storage base, and factory lifting supports. Muscle Cars and Trucks He adds that the engine also comes with a warranty, though its duration is unclear.

The Godzilla V8 is priced at $ 8,150. Customers must obtain their own transmission to work in conjunction with the 7.3-liter mill, as well as all required wiring.

While the motor does not produce a great deal of power and torque considering its size, it is understood that with some adjustments it can be increased to around 600 hp without the use of forced induction. For those looking for more power, Whipple launched a 3.0-liter supercharging system for the Godzilla engine earlier this year. Complementing the supercharger is a new 132mm Roval billet throttle body, and overall the supercharged mill is good for 700 hp and 700 lb-ft (949 Nm).
