Ford CEO: Mach-E is first true competitor with Tesla – not Tesla Mustang

Ford is currently pushing the Mustang M-E before delivering the customer and the automaker’s new CEO, Jim Farley, doesn’t hesitate to compare it to Tesla with the next electric car.

In recent years, many legacy automakers participating in electric vehicles have moved away from comparisons with Tesla, although the California-based automaker is a clear benchmark for new electric vehicles.

Ford is now coming to market with which you can argue is their first all-electric vehicle: the Mustang Mach-E.

While auto Tomaker has built other EVs in the past, they were based on gasoline vehicles and converted to electric propulsion.

The Mustang Mach-E is the first all-electric vehicle designed to be electric from the ground up.

As a small electric SUV, there have been many comparisons with Tesla and its Model Y.

Jim Farley, Ford’s new CEO, claims that the Mach-E will be Tesla’s true rival. He said in an interview with the Detroit Free Press:

“Vehicles are game changers. For me, Mach-E is the first true competitor with Tesla. It’s a Detroit swagger. It’s a Mustang. Tesla is not a Mustang. ”

Ford is betting on its Mustang brand with enough weight to launch its electric vehicle efforts.

For Tesla comparisons, the Model Y and M&C really compare.

They are with almost the same size model Y, which is a bit bigger.

Tesla’s electric crossover takes the edge when it comes to performance:

Ford Mustang Mach-E AWD Extra. Range Tesla Model Y Long Range AWD
Price: Cen 49,700 before the promotion In 49,990 before the promotion
Category: 270 miles (EPA) 316 miles (EPA)
0-60 mph: Mid-5 seconds 4.8 seconds
Cargo space: 59.6 cubic feet 66 cubic feet

But Ford’s U.S. For electric vehicles that will benefit in cost, thanks to a 7,500 federal tax credit that Tesla buyers no longer have access to.

Because their MSRP is virtually identical, Mach-E buyers are going to save an additional 7,500.

After launching and taking reservations last year, Ford has now produced Mach Mach-e in its factory in Mexico and will begin delivery.

Ferley added about the situation:

“We will start launching at the end of the year. We are just entering the initial mass production, where we started creating the volume of the Mustang Mach Mach-in. We don’t make hundreds in a day by increasing that turn. We’re literally building much-in right now and building a lot but at the bottom. We will build and test them and make sure they are perfect. We solve every problem. Once we are satisfied that each of our problems is solved, then we turn on the light switch and go to work. ”

Delivery is to be scheduled with a Ford dealership, but most vehicles were already reserved through the company reservation process.

You can check with your local merchant for pricing or more information regarding availability.

Take the electric

I think Ford will have success with Mach Mach-e, especially as long as Ford buyers still have access to the full federal tax credit, which they should do for the next 18 to 24 months.

But with the election coming up, I was thinking that if the era wins the short-term bid and the Democrats take control of Congress, Ford could be a big loser in terms of U.S. short-term electric vehicles.

While this could lead to a long-awaited revival of the EV tax credit to remove the cap by the manufacturer, there is no doubt that Ford’s Mach Mach-E and F-150 will take a much harder time to compete with the electric Tesla. Model Y and Cybertruck.

However, that would be more of a short-term problem and Ford would be better off removing the 200,000 delivery cap even in the long term.
