Florida records highest daily number of coronavirus deaths


The Florida health department reported 156 deaths from the coronavirus on Thursday, beating a record the state set just days earlier.

The new deaths bring the state’s total to 4,677 COVID-19-related deaths, according to state data.

The Florida Department of Health also reported 13,965 new positive cases of COVID-19, bringing the total number of cases statewide to 315,775.
