Police in Florida have released body-camera footage from an officer-related shooting in which an 18-year-old black man died after a medical examiner found a medical examiner injured by a gunshot wound.
“The case is under investigation,” the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said in a statement.
The Medical Examiner’s Office did not specify whether Devon Tilman Gregory died of self-inflicted injuries from the dozens of bullets from which police fired during the incident Tuesday night.

Officials say they pulled over the vehicle with three people in it because the car failed to maintain a single lane, according to Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office Fees of Investigation TK. Waters said in a statement after the shooting.

“Did you smoke a while ago or something?” He smelled marijuana and was the probable cause for finding the vehicle, an official said.

“Which car do we need to worry about?” You guys mind, what if we check it out real fast and get you on your way? The officer said the driver was removed from the vehicle and handcuffed while the other two passengers remained in the car.
Another officer looks at the car and sees Gregory, who seems to be smoking something, starting to reach the bottom of the seat.
Officers repeatedly call him a pause, but Gregory continues, insisting he is reaching for his phone.
The exchange escalates tensely, with officers shouting at Gregory: “Hey, don’t get there … f ****** get there!”
An officer yells at Gregory and warns him, “You’re going to get an F ****** shot!”
Gregory continues to ask if he can get his phone “please” and continues to arrive. At one point, it looks like he has a cellphone on his ear. Officers also removed other passengers from the vehicle.

“Relax, man. Hey, relax. Pull your hand down the seat, ”says one official, several minutes before the situation begins to return.
“Shoot me!” Gregory screams at least a dozen times. “F ****** Kill me!”
“Listen to me. I promise you that if you do not put anything in it, you will not be harmed,” said an official.
The 19-minute footage shows an officer approaching a vehicle with a K-9 dog, as Gregory shouts “Leave me! Leave me!”
Gregory lays his head down on the floor and the teenager’s head is shot from the inside of the vehicle, pushing it backwards.
Officers then opened fire on the vehicle several times.

Four officers will be on leave after the incident, which is the standard protocol for the department.
Gregory’s family watched the video just before it was released on Thursday, First Coast News reported.
The video of the physically worn camera is released only after an extensive investigation by both the police and the state attorney’s office fee, the outlet said.
