Five Things I Wish I Knew When I Started With The Avengers Beta

The Avengers beta is online, and I think it was time to write this article given that now at least the full spectrum of players have a chance to gain access. For PS4 it’s everyone, for Xbox and PC, it’s everyone who has pre-ordered it, but that’s good enough, so it’s time to get some advice out with my 20+ hours so far.

Here are five things I wish I knew when I started the Avengers Beta (other than no, your progress will not move to the final release).

1. The Maxes

For the beta, the maximum level you can reach is 15, the max force level, linked to your gear, is 45, but I see no real reason to get that high, as enemies will scale to your level for most activities now. There’s only one mission, the Villain Lair, which has a slightly higher power requirement at level 20, but I did it at 15 and it really was no problem. Remember, these are not just drops that will raise your power level, you can use currency to pump up the power of your gear. The higher the rarity of the gear, the more you can increase the power. An unusual piece can only go up three levels, a legendary piece can go up 10 levels.

2. My Favorite Upgrades

Hulk – Sink points in anger skills for bonus healing and spend more time. He’s a tank, so must pick up a ton of damage.

Black widow – I love her high caliber pistol and if you can get a lot of assembled gear, it turns her into a collar sniper. Also anything that stun damage on them increases for faster access to takedowns.

Kamala – She benefits from any combo-based skill because she’s such a brawler. Unlock them first and you will see the best results from their stretchy moveset.

Iron Man – This tree has access to lasers, repulsors and missiles. For my money, I think investing in rockets is the best bet for enormous damage on range.

3. Best places to farm

In general, the longer the mission, the better an XP and co-op will become. That in this case, that would be the Stark realities and condition: Green missions in the Pacific Northwest, because they all have bonus boxes in open world territories, and many enemies for leveling. The best farm is probably the longest mission, the schoolgirl. Drop zones will mainly play you to fill specific slots, such as if you need artifacts (which often do not drop anywhere else).

4. My Legendary Drop Locations

I can not say for sure that this is the best place to get legendary drops, which are indeed available in beta, but from both from me I got them from a “take down the VIP target in this area” goal that you encounter in the mission that has open world segments. Most of the time, the drip was always at least a blue or purple, but I got both of my legendary through these kinds of goals.

5. The secret mission

This is something I did not know existed until after the beta was over, but now I’m going back to do it. In the mission Stark Realities there is a secret SHIELD bunker that you can find and go through. This will then unlock a secret mission in the tundra back on the world map that you can play. I believe this is where you can use your DNA keys from the school, but I need to check.

Where to find the bunker:

Hopefully that is enough to get you started. Have fun.
