Google’s plan to acquire Fitbit has come under fire for potential misuse of users’ health data, halting the announced lawsuit in November. In the meantime, Fitbit is working on its smartwatch range, and we could see some new product launches pretty soon. A WinFuture report details that Fitbit will add a new high-end timepiece called Sense to its lineup, along with new iterations of the Versa and Inspire series.

Fitbit Sense

Fitbit’s latest addition to its already extensive range seems to be a higher-end smartwatch with the same aesthetics as the Versa 3. The metal frame gives the Sense a more premium look and it might be necessary for that proposed ECG capability, that becomes a hot feature among smartwatches. However, WinFuture is not quite sure if the Sense will actually have ECG and speculates only based on the markings on the back of the watch. Other icons seem to indicate 50M water resistance, GPS and temperature taking functionality.

Fitbit Versa 3

The third-gen Versa will apparently retain its overall design, but could lose the physical button. We see a small impression in these leaky renders, that a Charge 4-like pressure-sensitive touch area can be used that enables better water resistance. The display of the Versa 3 is another thing that turns out to be; it now has rounded corners that correspond to the general shape.

Both Sense and Versa 3 smartwatches will likely switch to Google Assistant instead of Alexa. This is not exactly news, because we already knew that integration was on the cards. What’s interesting is that Fitbit is moving to non-metal build for the Versa 3 as its predecessor comes with an aluminum shell. This can be a saving measure to keep their retail prices reasonable and also give the new Sense an extra edge over the Versa 3.

Fitbit Inspire 2

Finally, the budget-friendly Inspire fitness band will also get an upgrade later this year. It does not look like the Inspire 2 has undergone a major redesign, sticking to the monochrome display, but it apparently gets the new haptic button. The report does not have much to say about this, and we do not yet know when any of these products will see the light of day.
