Final Fantasy XIV is dramatically expanding the scope of its free trial version. Soon, players jumping into Square Enix’s huge MMORPG will be able to raise characters to level 60 and replay all of the story content via Heavensward, as well as some of the expansions that have been released in patches up to 3.56.
That’s an amazing amount of content in a free trial for one of the best MMOs on the market. The free trial version will include everything mentioned above, which includes the works and the playable Au Ra presented in Heavensward. You would have needed to own the expansion to view this content before now. Square Enix says the owners of A Realm Reborn and Starter Edition will update their game content to include this free content as well, in case anyone is concerned they would be left out of the recently expanded free trial content.
Since it’s still a free trial for a game with a premium subscription, there are limits to what you can do for free in Final Fantasy XIV: Joining free companies, forming groups, and using the auction house are activities reserved for paying customers.
