Federal judge says he will block nationwide changes to USPS policy

During the court hearing, Judge Stanley Bastian said he would issue a nationwide restraining order against the USPS on Thursday afternoon.

The Democratic State Attorney General’s coalition was formed last month by the USPS. Claimed that Master General Louis Dijoy broke the law when he implemented policy changes that hindered mail delivery across the country. USPS He denies the allegations and says Djoy is not trying to sabotage the election.

During the hearing, Bastian added that there was a “significant potential” for a change in postal policy that could “deprive voters,” adding that “damage has been done.”

“Significant evidence has been presented that these variable changes have been made by the Postal Service which has made mail delivery slower and less efficient.”

Some Democratic state officials who brought the lawsuit cheered the judge’s decision.

“A big victory in protecting the postal service – a federal judge in the state of Washington obstructed the mail of illegal UPS policies and obstructed the election.” Tweeted Washington State Attorney General Bob Ferguson, who led the Democratic Attorney General’s coalition.
