FC Dallas football game will be the first event in the premier league sports team that has been played for a multitude since pandemic

FC Dallas meets at 7.30pm against Nashville SC in the opener of two back-to-back matchups.

Both teams were forced to withdraw from the recent MLS’s Back Tournament due to Covid-19 outbreaks among staff and players.

MLS is the first league game for sports teams to host a game for fans since the coronavirus pandemic forced leagues to suspend or delay their respective seasons in March.

The NBA, NHL and MLB have returned or started their seasons, but there were no fans present.

Texas Attorney Greg Abbott issued an executive order on June 3 allowing sports venues to expand capacity in outdoor games from 25% to 50%. Dallas FC said it can attend 5,110 fans, which is less than 25% of the stadium’s 20,500 capacity.

Fans are required to sign an exemption to go to the game, and everyone is required to wear face masks at all times on the property of the stadium, including in the parking lot, the team said.

Cash is not accepted at concession stands to minimize physical interaction, the team said. No paper tickets will be issued, as all tickets are delivered and processed via the AXS ticketing app.

Texas has so far recorded at least 518,150 confirmed cases of coronavirus – third most among U.S. states – and more than 9,225 deaths, according to a Johns Hopkins University census.
