FBI raids New Jersey lab, urges new Covid-19 tests for passers-by

The FBI is requesting that anyone who has received the “Quick Finger Prick” Covid-19 test in a New Jersey lab be contacted as soon as possible and that the agency be contacted.

The Ventnor-based lab, Infinity Diagnostic Laboratory, is named in a public service announcement released Friday by the FBI’s Newark branch. According to NBC Philadelphia, the location was allegedly offering antibody and active virus testing, dubbed the “quick 10-minute test” on the mark taken down on Friday.

FBI agents raided the scene Thursday but the bureau did not say why, NBC Philadelphia confirmed.

A local employer told the outlet that he paid his staff for testing at the lab, but was wary of the results.

“I think giving fake, inappropriate tests only makes the situation 10 times worse,” Brian Strahl told NBC Philadelphia. Because you … are putting people at risk, and you’re also giving people a false sense of security. I think it’s horrible. “

The FBI said Friday that finger prick blood tests could be used to detect Covid-19 antibodies, but only nasal or saliva tests should be used to diagnose active cases.

Anyone receiving tests from Infinite Diagnostic Laboratory should react again, and the FBI told them to contact the agency because their answers would be “useful in a federal investigation.”

Infinite Diagnostic Laboratory did not respond to NBC News Sunday’s phone calls and did not respond to requests for comment on NBC Philadelphia.
