McClintock “died peacefully in his sleep at home” on February 16, he says.
McClintock was known for her dresses, especially for wedding and promotion designs, wrote the Steve Rubenstein of the Chronicle. “Her name became synonymous with landmark events, naming, promoters, graduates, engagements and marriages in a woman’s life,” he writes.
The website says the “ideal of romance” is Jessica McClintock spreading the brand. “Jessica was an early adopter of the idea of empowering young women and women of all ages to live their best lives with confidence,” he says.
McClintock has survived his son Scott and will be interred with his family in Presc Isle, Maine. Celebrations of his life are planned to take place in San Francisco later this year, according to the Chronicle’s genealogy.
