One of Ubisoft’s big revelations for its Ubisoft Forward event has already leaked, and now the company has produced a brief teaser for Far Cry 6 with a look at its big star. The short clip shows Giancarlo Esposito from Breaking Bad smoking a cigarette, with a short message that we’ll see more to come at the event. We don’t want to piss Gustavo Fring off, especially if he has a box cutter on hand.
The leak revealed that Esposito will appear in Far Cry 6, which is backed by this tweet that comes from the official Far Cry account. Far Cry 6 will take place in a tropical paradise called Yara, ruled by the despotic Anton Castillo and his son Diego. Esposito seems to be playing Castillo.
This tweet seems to acknowledge the leak with a cheeky reference, saying “Anton would not be happy.” And as those who have seen Breaking Bad or its spin-off Better Call Saul can attest, you don’t want to put yourself on the bad side of Esposito. He also played a new Star Wars villain in the Disney + The Mandalorian series.
The list also revealed that Far Cry 6 will appear on current and next-gen consoles, and will offer a free upgrade path for digital purchases from PlayStation 4 to PS5, similar to Microsoft’s Smart Delivery on Xbox One to Xbox Series X. According to the The store listing was leaked, slated to launch on February 18, 2021. That is probably a few months after the arrival of next-gen consoles.
The Ubisoft Forward broadcast will take place tomorrow, July 12. We hope to see more of Far Cry 6 there, as well as other games like Watch Dogs: Legion and Hyper Scape.
