Director Matt Reeves debuted the first teaser trailer for the next Batman movie on Saturday during Warner Bros. ‘DC FanDome virtual event. In addition to introducing new interpretations of iconic Bat villains Selina Kyle / Catwoman (Zoe Kravitz) and the Riddler (Paul Dano), Farrell’s version of Oswald Cobblepot / Penguin made some quick appearances in the new footage.
He can be seen angry, as part of a gunfight, and is then chased by the Batmobile.
According to Reeves, we will see early versions of these villains in “The Batman.” Cobblepot does not even name the name Penguin yet, and does not care much about the nickname.
Reeves confirmed Farrell’s role in the film in January. He stars in the film alongside Robert Pattinson, Jeffrey Wright, and Andy Serkis.
“The Batman” is currently set to release in October 2021. Filming is expected to resume on film this fall.
