Update 6, 8 August 4.16 pm PT: Fall Guys developer Mediatonic acknowledged the server issues with the game on Friday, saying it marks a whole new record number of players entering the game, causing problems. A “long term fix” is now in the works, with the team going into “maintenance mode”.
The team then followed up on Saturday morning with this update, saying that the game would be re-maintained before the game would return online again:
HOOT! We did not tweet when the servers were online, because there were hundreds of thousands of people playing, even if we turned them on secretly … In 20 minutes we will go into maintenance again, then we will start bringing it back after a short period onlineAugust 8, 2020
The developer has also mentioned additional rewards for players if the game runs effectively.
We are sorry today for the bad experience. We kept improving things when we arranged things, but with record numbers of players today, new problems have arisen. We are now transitioning to maintenance mode so that we can implement a fix in the longer term.August 8, 2020

Update: We’ve managed to get a game of Fall Guys on PS4 – so it might be worth checking back and see if it works for you. Today, we got matchmaking problems just after a game, after multiple attempts.
The demand is incredibly high for the game, and the developers have posted this message, explaining that creating accounts on PS4 is temporarily disabled while the servers are back online:
We tried to bring the servers back online secretly, but 100,000 of you all came flooded back in lol. To address this we have temporarily disabled the creation of accounts for PS4! We will let you know as soon as it is back! Thank you for your patience!August 4, 2020
Things are coming “slowly back online” according to the official account. A more recent tweet says “Hopefully server issues will continue to improve. “
We’re still working hard to improve things – things are slowly coming back online. We will post here as soon as we have more updates! Thank you for joining us!August 4, 2020
Original story: Fall Guys is now available on PS Plus, and it’s the new multiplayer hotness on PS4 – so hot, in fact, that players’ mistake ‘No Match Found’ when trying to play a game. Fortunately, the developers at Mediatonic are working on a fix.
At least 120,000 players played the game at launch earlier today – far above expectations, leading developers to say they were “cheering” their servers to deal with demand. The hope was that the game would be over within 30 minutes of this tweet, and that Matchmaking would be turned off while that happened, but more than an hour later we get this message in-game:
From the early afternoon in the UK, the developers said on the official account that they were “still fixing things”. A later message says “a lot of progress” is being made about the problem.
We’re still fixing things, we probably shouldn ‘t have to guess how long it would take 😅Care soon ™, though 👀Everyone has pitiful mothers from Fall Guys to pass the time?August 4, 2020
Hopefully it will be confirmed today at some point – then we’ll keep you updated on the latest.
In terms of player numbers, this seems like a promising start for Fall Guys. This multiplayer game of 60 players sees each participant race their character across physical obstacles of TV game show style, with everyone racing to the end of the course to claim a crown. Fall Guys has launched on PS4 and PC, though it’s been free for a month with PS Plus, similar to how Rocket League launched in 2015.
