Fall Guys, as told by Steam reviews

I think it’s pretty safe to say that the taste of 2020 of the month, of the year, is here. Fall Guys is a tail-gripping, bean-flinging phenomenon. It has managed to transform Twitch, Steam and PS4 into its own personal video game shows, with millions to watch and play. This may be a stretch on my part, but it seems like people … like it?

Steam users at least feel “Most Positive” towards The Guys despite a few pratfalls. They love the freewheeling feeling of fun of the game, the lack of pretension outside of “watching these little dudes in stupid costumes fall down.” However, they take issues with persistent server issues, to the point that developer Mediatonic felt the need to post a message about server capacity as the first thing you look at Fall Guys‘Steam store page. However, these are not just technical issues. Some Steam users also feel that repetition sets in quickly, with team-based minigames in which those with the most skills do not always avoid taking a particularly annoying toll. Others, however, argue that luck is simply an expected part of this kind of game, and that team games give everyone the chance to move forward – and maybe even win.
