Facebook has announced that applications are now open for more than $ 40 million in subsidies to black-owned companies. As of Wednesday, majority U.S. black-owned companies with a maximum of 50 employees can apply for the grant online.
Black-owned companies can now even designate their Facebook page as black-owned. The indication will not appear publicly on the profile or page, but it will appear as black-owned in the Companies section nearby.
“This will make it easier for people to discover, report, buy goods or order food through third-party black-owned companies’ apps in their local communities,” Facebook said.
