The wrong Dallas Cowboy is angry Thursday morning.
A day after Dak Prescott didn’t get his big-money spread from the Cowboys, running back Ezekiel Elliott furiously turned to Twitter to voice his mysterious feelings of disrespect.
“There are a lot of great runners in this league, but I don’t understand why the media has to talk about my game just to elevate other runners,” said the 24-year-old. “We are all talented soccer players and we can play catch.”
His ventilation follows the long-term spread of the Tennessee Titans with running back Derrick Henry. Just before the NFL franchise deadline, Henry signed a four-year, $ 50 million contract with $ 25.5 million guaranteed, according to ESPN. A possible source of frustration could be Madden’s new rating that put Elliott tied for third among runners with a rating of 92. Henry is the second highest rated rider at Madden with a rating of 93.
“Check the statistics,” tweeted Elliott, who signed a six-year, $ 90 million extension in the offseason.
“Since entering this league I have dominated year after year. Put a little RESPECT on my behalf. Women lie. Men lie. Statistics don’t. Go to do your homework. Almost 1,800 yards of scrimmage and 14 touchdowns with no training ground, and now I’m not the same. I appreciate the standard that you hold for me though hahaha. But I promise you, nobody keeps me on a higher level than me.
Elliott has 5,406 rushing yards, 1,619 receiving yards and 48 total touchdowns in his four seasons in the NFL.
Meanwhile, Prescott will play the 2020 NFL season in the one-year, $ 31.4 million franchise tender he signed.
