Extremely online President A’s takes Giants fans to historic choke lane

After the historic late collapse of the San Francisco Giants vs. the Oakland Athletics Friday night dismissed Dave Kaval, the A’s extreme online team president, in a tweet from which Giants invited fans to jump on his bandwagon.

The Giants choked away a 7-2 ninth inning lead after a five-run impulse from closer to Trevor Gott that was partly fueled by a very bad error from first baseman Wilmer Flores. It was the first time the Giants had taken a five-run lead in the ninth inning as later since 1929.

After the A’s won the game in extra innings, Kaval tweeted a clip art image of a bandwagon titled “Hey @SFGiants fans. The @Athletics will send a bandwagon down to Market Street tomorrow afternoon. Feel free to jump in!”

Kaval’s responses were echoed by Giants fans who reminded him that the A’s have won only one playoff series since 1990, as well as reminders that he was once deceived into believing that an anonymous Twitter user was his cousin died of an overdose of marijuana.

“So sad to hear that,” Kaval tweeted in May 2017 to the user who duped him. “My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.”

Other notable Kaval Twitter moments include tweeting “OK boomer” by Chronicle columnist Bruce Jenkins, after Jenkins criticized the team for moving local radio games, and also that he was with Seattle Sounders fans in the middle of the night after that when he was the team president of the San Jose earthquakes.
