Bagged and loose peaches sold nationwide have been recalled due to possible contamination of salmonella.

On August 21, 2020, a return was initiated by Prima® Wawona of Fresno, California and included bagged peaches that were distributed and sold in supermarkets between June 1 and August 19, 2020.

On August 22, 2020, bulk / loose peaches were distributed and sold from June 1 to August 3 also added to the memory.

According to the August 22 renewal, The bulk / loose peaches are sold in groceries in a variety of formats, typically bins where consumers can select their own fruit and have the following stickers with PLU numbers on them: 4037, 4038, 4044, 4401, 94037, 94038, 94044, 94401. “

The recall includes sunken peaches with the following marks and codes:

* Prima® Peaches – 766342325903
* Peaches for Organic Markets – 849315000400
* Kroger Peaches – 011110181749
* Wegmans Peaches – 077890490488

The product codes can be found at the bottom of each package.

The updated recap of instructions shows, “All affected peaches can be found in stores nationwide.”

The original recall notice stated that the peppers were distributed through retailers in the following states: Alaska, Alabama, Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Maryland , Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, Minnesota, Missouri, Mississippi, North Carolina, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia and Wisconsin.

Prima® Wawona of Fresno, California voluntarily recalls all of its bulk / loose peaches from June 1 through August 3, and its Wawona and Wawona Organic Peach bag is distributed and sold from June 1 through August 19, as the products possibly contaminated with Salmonella.

Salmonella is a microorganism that can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, vulnerable as well as older people, and others with weakened immune systems. Healthy people infected with Salmonella often experience fever, diarrhea (which can be bloody), nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain. In rare circumstances, infection with Salmonella can result in the organism entering the bloodstream and producing more serious diseases such as arterial infections (ie infected aneurysms), endocarditis and arthritis.

Prima® Wawona recalls the peaches as a precaution in connection with a Salmonella outbreak under investigation by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention which is suspected to affect the disease of more than 60 people in nine states caused.
