Under blanket Mediterranean Sea executive producer Nadine Rajabi says she was shocked to learn that captain Hannah Ferrier brought valium on board the boat this season.
She only learned about the medication when Yawn discovered it via a photo sent to her of bosun Malia White. During a cabin change, White snapped a photo of Ferrier’s prescription valium and CBD pen. She later texted the photo to Yawn. Yawn is seen in her cabin at night in the photo in shock. ‘Wow,’ Yawn says softly as she looks at the picture.
‘I have to be honest. My heart sank, ”said Rajabi of Vanity Fair. “It was very shocking.” Rajabi has discussed the franchise in the past and leaned towards the more comical and light-hearted moments from the show. She also shared that she could feel the pregnancy if the show would take a dark turn.
The moment in Captain Sandy’s office was without a doubt
Clearly rattling, Yawn Ferrier called into her office to discuss the findings. She invites a witness, the first mate who does not appear on the show, to go through protocol. ‘We’ve never had such a thing before. It was completely unexpected, “said Rajabi of Vanity Fair.
“Many times we do not know what is happening [because there are so many cameras rolling at all times], but the beauty of the show is that the whole boat is rigged, ”shared Rajabi. I said, ‘Can you go back and see if Hannah took any kind of pills? Is there a Valium box? Is there a pill? ‘Is there evidence that we really need to see it? “

She knew the crew had to follow the law and producers could not intervene. “The truth is, maritime law was broken, and Sandy had to make a decision,” Rajabi explained. ‘And the decision was, she has a reputation at sea. It was all recorded. It’s almost like a police body cam. Sandy could have been in really big trouble if she hadn’t reported it. ”
Rajabi wishes Ferrier had been just ahead from the start. “We’ve had a lot of shocking things,” she said. ‘That was one of the things where it was,’ just telling us the truth before we start shooting. Because anyway, the truth always comes out, and the cameras always capture it. ” She recalls how White and Chef Adam Glick lied about being hooked before the show’s start in season 2. The relationship was finally revealed and Glick broke the fourth wall.
They hate to watch the cast fight
Rajabi opened up about the moments she loves (and does not love) while producing the show. “I also live for the moments when you welcome the guests and [the crew] has her nights out. And they come back to the boat and they all have drinks. I mean talk about funny drunk people watching. She said on the Stay No script no problem podcast.
“I wish people could watch the raw footage because of the things you see in people’s trunks or what they do,” she continued, adding that she cried from laughing. ‘I laughed with her. I cry with her. The parts that hurt me when I see them fight. I, personally as a human being, would like to go: ‘Please just stop fighting!’ But I can not! I have to get rid of it all and it kills me. ”

Before season 5 began, Rajabi pleaded about how the season has its ups and downs. “As a producer, I do not like watching the downs, but it’s real life and just like the viewers we see it explode in real time,” she shared with Decider. “It’s the takeaway that matters.”
