It’s been five years since the last Batman video game, Arkham Knight, was released and fans yearned for a new title set in Gotham City. Fortunately, it seems like the wait is over.
After months of speculation and rumors, game studio Warner Bros. has arrived. Montreal (Batman: Arkham Origins) plead what the next Batman game seems to be. With the following tweet, shared on Monday, the account posted a quick video of a radar. While it may seem like nothing more than a place for something in general, there is actually a logo that appears halfway through the video.
Have you seen it? The logo turns out to be a drawing of an owl, and that’s enough for comic book fans to start drawing a connection between this game announcement and Gotham City’s The Court of Owls.

WHAT IS THE COURT OF EINEN?
The Court of Owls is a criminal organization in Gotham City that has existed since colonial times. Made in 2011 by writer Scott Snyder and artist Greg Capullo, The Court of Owls were the first major antagonists of Batman in the new 52 of the new 52 of DC Comics.
Consisting of the oldest and richest families of Gotham, The Court of Owls has used violence and crime to gain political influence throughout history.
To carry out their sinister missions, The Court of Owls uses high-profile assassins called Talons. These killers are actually kidnapped child artists from the circus who were trained to do their bidding.
In case you did not notice, there are some parallels between them and how Bruce Wayne recruited Dick Grayson, also the first Robin.
WHEN WILL WE WIN MORE ABOUT THE NEW BATMAN GAME?
WB Games Montreal’s Twitter account is not the only one sharing that tease clip. A new account with the handle @r3dakt3d went live Monday and posted the same video.
You will want to follow it to get the most current information on what this upcoming game is. Fans can also go to the official website r3dakt3d to see a cryptic message and find out when we will learn more about this game.
“We’ve been expecting you to be 8/18” is what reads the message on the site’s homepage. The tease apparently looks set for August 18, when we’ll get more information – as hopefully confirming that this is indeed a new Batman game.
WB Games Montreal will have its own panel to announce its next project during this weekend’s DC Fandome online convention. The studio’s official panel will take place on Saturday, August 22, starting at 1:30 PM EDT; it will give fans their first real look at this new game and a Q&A session with its developers.
If it’s new Batman title, then it will probably not be part of the Arkham series developed by Rocksteady. That studio has its hands full anyway, working on it recently announced Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League match.
Rocksteady told Dax Ginn IGN in 2014 that Arkham Knight, the concluding chapter in the Arkham series, would be the studio’s latest Batman story.
“We have everything we can do here,” Ginn said. “It’s kind of time for us to run out. All we do is make a collective decision between Rocksteady, Warner Brothers, and DC Comics. But it was something we really did because we had a really clear vision for how “This story should end, and the way we want it to end.”
