Even Shroud is shocked at his Twitch viewer count after he returned

First-person shooter streamer Michael Grzesiek, better known by Shroud, returned to Twitch on Wednesday and was rewarded with a huge number of viewers.

Grzesiek’s Twitch stream reached about 516,000 viewers, who eventually saw that he was fiddled with his audio and bitrate settings. After making sure his stream was on par, he started streaming Valorant, significantly improving the live viewer of the game on Twitch. During the livestream, Grzesiek said he only expected about 200,000 fans to log in.

The excitement surrounding his return is not surprising, as he was previously one of the most popular livestreamers on Twitch before entering an deal with Mixer. After the closure of Microsoft’s streaming service, fans speculated about where he would stream. After a month of silence, he began posting his return to Twitch via Twitter.

“I do not know why there are so many of you here, but I appreciate it,” Grzesiek said streaming. ‘I’m just an ordinary guy who likes to play a lot of games. It’s crazy, man. Crazy. ”

Despite the hype, Grzesiek told viewers not to expect anything outrageous from the stream, citing DrDisrespect’s highly-produced YouTube stream that included an elaborate Lamborghini introduction. In contrast, Grzesiek’s livestream was much more low key. However, the return of Grzesiek overshadowed almost everyone else on the live streaming service, with other popular Twitch streams as of this writing reaching only about 50,000 viewers.

Grzesiek first became known as Counter-Strike streamer before joining Cloud9 to play the game professionally. After a brief pro-career, Grzesiek moved to full-time streaming, where he became one of Twitch’s most popular streamers, with an emphasis on beating generous games such as PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds en Apex Legends, as well as other multiplayer shooters.
