Xbox Series X will launch in less than 2 weeks on November 10.
When pre-orders launched in September, players were quick to secure their pre-orders so they wouldn’t miss a thing.
Unfortunately, many fans were lost and no more consoles have appeared for sales.
EXHAUSTED
Pre-orders for the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S launched worldwide on September 22.
The Playstation 5 was the first out the door beating Microsoft by a few days, selling out in an instant.
The same largely happened with Xbox Series X and S as well.
Both the PS5 and Xbox Series X will retail for $ 499 / £ 449, while the digital PS5 will retail for $ 399 / $ 349 and the Xbox Series X will cost $ 299 / £ 249.
Is stock on the way?
Phil Spencer, the head of Xbox, has stated that gamers are unlikely to be able to purchase a new Xbox before the end of 2020, if they were unable to secure a pre-order in September.
Speaking to the Dropped Frames podcast, Phil Spencer confirmed that the stock shortage will last “for a few months.”
“We know what our supply will be like basically for the rest of the year. We are going to have more demand than supply.”
“And I’ll apologize to people for that in advance. We saw it with pre-orders, how much power there was, and we basically ran out of stock in a couple of hours, which is unfortunate. I think we’re going to live in that world for a few months. We are going to have much more demand than we supply. “
This is very similar to what Sony Interactive Entertainment CEO Jim Ryan said recently.
“The demand has been very strong. Not everyone who wants a PS5 on launch day will be able to find it.”
Black Friday 2020
Even though pre-order stocks are completely sold out, some stores, including Best Buy, are using both consoles in their ads for upcoming Black Friday and Cyber Monday events next month.
Black Friday takes place the day after Thanksgiving and is where many products are heavily discounted to start holiday shopping and to ditch old stocks.
Although the consoles are used for advertising, don’t expect a discount on any of them.
But some stores may have been promised more stock for the event, or some units were held back to attract people to their stores over their competitors.
