Windows 10 testers who have adopted the Your Phone app now have the ability to run various Android apps on their desktop, but this feature will only be available for Samsung smartphones for the foreseeable future.
Microsoft brought support for running Android apps on your phone in September and promised that the ability to run multiple mobile apps on the Windows 10 desktop would arrive before the end of 2020.
And indeed that capability is already here, or at least support for Windows Insiders (testers) is rolling out, with general availability to everyone, hopefully not too far off.

However, the testers must be running one of certain Samsung smartphones, and it doesn’t seem like other phones will be able to benefit from these nifty features any time soon.

When asked about compatibility with other devices, Vishnu Nath, managing partner for program, mobile and X-Device management at Microsoft, clarified that connecting the Android app required a deeper level of hardware integration and software than other functions on your phone.
Most of our features work on the broadest set of Android devices. However, this specific feature requires a deeper level device / OS integration and we are working directly with Samsung to make it possible.November 6, 2020
So while this does not preclude Microsoft eventually working with other phone manufacturers to bring these advantages to mobile phone owners, it is obviously not a trivial thing to do so and therefore likely not to happen any time soon. .
A couple of months ago, Microsoft said it was “exploring new ideas and ways to help our customers” in terms of bringing these features to non-Samsung phones, so maybe we can hope this is something that will eventually be in the pipeline.
