The report indicates that by tapping “accept” the user agrees to the updated “Terms of Service” and can then continue to use the application. The update will be effective on February 8, 2021. However, if users do not agree to the changes or the updated terms of service, they will lose access to their account. Users can delete their account within WhatsApp settings.
In addition to the updated Terms of Service, WhatsApp also recently released other new updates for Android (web version 2.20.206.19 for Android) and iOS (2.20.130 in the App Store).
