  • WhatsApp’s Linked Devices feature is coming soon in beta versions.
  • The feature will allow up to four devices to connect to a single WhatsApp account.
  • In particular, the main WhatsApp phone does not need to have Internet access for the feature to work.

We wouldn’t blame you if you thought WhatsApp’s multi-device compatibility is a myth. The news of its existence first appeared late last year. Now, almost a year later, it looks like the feature could soon make its debut on the platform, according to WABetaInfo.

The WhatsApp insider discovered new information about the pending feature in a future beta, which will allow up to four devices to use a single WhatsApp account simultaneously.

The feature is still called “linked devices” and allows users to “send or receive messages from their browser, computer, or Facebook portal.”

Currently, users running the future version will have to choose to access the feature, but once it is complete, a list of their paired devices will appear. Users can log out of each device individually if necessary.

WABetaInfo It also explains that if users choose to participate in the feature, all current sessions will be closed. You will have to log in again on all devices.

While previous reports did not clarify whether your primary phone needed to be connected to the Internet, the new information indicates that each device will be able to connect independently. This means that you don’t need to have your phone connected to the internet if you want to use WhatsApp on your PC.

The insider does not clarify when the build will be available to beta testers, but does explain that some features are “not ready yet.” Don’t hold your breath, but if you’re on the WhatsApp beta channel, maybe keep an eye out for updates.
