*** The federal government has deliberately suspended direct support [saftynet] who go to the town of Tigray in revenge for the town’s participation in the elections.

***The government also tried to intervene and suspend sporting activities, but then backtracked out of fear of reactions from international sporting organizations such as FIFA.

***The effort of the federal government to try to achieve [Tigray] only through the Kebele level of administration is typically a unitary government character.

***The government is now trying to solve these problems by force. Political differences are resolved through discussion, political power is obtained only through elections. There are indications that the government is trying to use force, which are seen mainly by reserve order of the military throughout the country, whereas nothing at this level needs as much attention; on the other hand [it shows] the government’s betrayal … to hit his own country in collaboration with the Eritrean government that showed its willingness to help Abiy Ahmed.

***We have prepared our Special Force army that does not need a war, but if the worst comes, to defend ourselves. Isaias [Afwerki] he is playing his role as if he were a member of the PP, betraying the freedom of the country. Showing him our Air Force base was outrageous. The base is restricted even to our own citizens, much less a leader whose soldiers point their rifles right in front of us, hidden in his fortress.

***We keep saying that we don’t need any conflict or war; we just want to face this through political dialogue.

***But they want to subdue the people of Tigray and they want the border issue to remain as it is until they bring the people of Tigray to their knees.

***We are helping the people of Eritrea with whatever we can here, so the people of Eritrea should avoid unnecessary war.

***We have informed all stakeholders, including major international bodies and governments, of the looming danger before anything happens.

*** What does it mean for a government to try to do its part in holding elections?

*** We must pay attention to the situation moving towards war and everyone must be prepared. This war [if it happened] it is the people’s war, not the militias and the Special Force. We work to avoid war, but as situations are changing and if war is imminent, we are ready not only to resist but also to win the war.

*** Any transfer of any type of information related to military activity or war. [if it happened] through social networks or any means is strictly prohibited. Only we will disseminate such information on military matters. We strictly take action if someone does.

Thank you
