Call of Duty: War Zone Y Modern war Season 6 is just around the corner, and for the new season, Activision and Infinity Ward are adding an unexpected new feature to the first. By expanding to Battle Royale, the Call of Duty The series is experimenting with features that it has never dabbled with in the past. Battle royale is a completely different beast than traditional multiplayer. And there’s nothing more iconic than this, then the newest feature to come War zone: fast travel.

How do you add fast travel to the game? Well, through the Verdansk metro system, which was recently announced after a leak months ago. In the ongoing narrative of the Battle Royale mode, the reason behind the subway system is to find members of Al-Qatala hiding underground. And with the subway system, now there are not only fast trips, but new areas to explore.

“With this transport system fully operational at the beginning of season six, all operators in Verdansk can now use it to move through the war zone faster than ever between numerous points of interest,” reads an official blurb about the function. “And of course there are now some new areas to explore, complete with supply crates and loose cargo items that can lead your entire squad on the right path to victory.”

According to Infinity and Activision, at the beginning of each round, the subway system will have numerous open stations to explore, all of which have the exact same layout. And of course the real train will never take you to a station swallowed up by the circle. Furthermore, the train will not move if there is any conflict on board between the train and the platform, which means that it will be necessary to keep fighting on the platform, the stairs and outside the station.

For now, it remains to be seen what kind of impact this has on the meta and how drastically it impacts map navigation. For the moment, it seems that at least it will completely change the latter.

Call of Duty: War Zone is available, for free, via PS4, Xbox One, and PC, and will soon be available via PS5 and Xbox Series X. For more coverage on the free Battle Royale game, including the latest news and rumors and leaks: click here or check the relevant links below:
