Today, vivo brought the vivo V20 to the Indian market. Priced at INR 24,990 and INR 27,990 for the 8/128 GB and 8/256 GB variant, respectively, the vivo V20 is apparently a great value proposition, but now we’ll have a chance to test it out and see if that’s the case. .

The unit comes with all the accessories you could want: a 33W charger, a USB-A to USB-C cable, USB-C headphones, and a free silicone sleeve.

The phone features a 6.44-inch 1080p AMOLED display, which makes the V20 a very compact phone. The slim 7.4mm body and reasonable 170g weight make the phone comfortable in hand and pocket.

vivo has worked hard to ship the V20 with Android 11 up and running. In fact, the entire Funtoch OS 11 feels a lot like a Pixel with near-stock icons, a stock power menu, the Google keyboard as standard, and Android 11-exclusive features sprinkled throughout such as Conversations, Bubbles, Notification History, Nearby Actions and Stock Focus. mode.

vivo has added some of their apps, like Game Sidebar with 4D game vibes, their Stock Gallery app, FM Radio, iManager, Compass, and Voice Recorder.

The AMOLED screen is nice with good brightness and beautiful colors and contrast. The fact that it is barely curved on the sides (2.5D is the preferred marketing term) is refreshing, however the side bezels are a bit thick, which takes some of the glamor out of the device.

We found the built-in optical fingerprint scanner to be fast and very accurate. It works with a simple touch, requires no pressure, despite the pre-installed plastic screen protector.

The rear panel has the now characteristic gradient finish of vivo. It goes from dark gray to silver and even blue under some light. The matte surface feels premium to the touch and doesn’t attract fingerprints as easily as a glossy finish would. The side-mounted power button is textured, making it easy to position with one finger.

Cameras are a key selling point of the vivo V20. Its 64MP main snapper bundles 4 pixels into one for resulting 16MP snapshots. The 64MP main shooter does double duty as a 2x telephoto camera. The other two sensors are an 8MP ultra-wide camera and a 2MP depth camera. Built into a small notch is a 44MP selfie camera. We shot some preliminary samples, which you can see below, but we reserve our judgment for our full review.
