Dustin Poirier has knocked out Conor McGregor in the second round!

McGregor rushes out of his side and starts shooting with his left hands one after another. Poirier times it well and gets a flush counter to the right. Poirier runs and gets an early takedown. McGregor immediately backs up into the cage and straightens again in half a minute. A good shoulder bump from Poirier lands and they are engulfed in tight spaces throughout the cage. Another good blow to the shoulder from Poirier, followed by a knee to McGregor’s body. Then another. Then another. They have been on lockdown for about a minute, exchanging shoulder blows, and now McGregor has reversed his position, so Poirier is against the cage. McGregor lands an elbow on top and now they are out of the clinch and back in the center of the octagon. McGregor then lands and right hand from a distance. McGregor is pressuring Poirier while Poirier tries to stop him with kicks to the calf. You have to score McGregor, but an encouraging performance for Poirier.

A fight that no Happening as scheduled tonight was the showdown between the undefeated lightweight Ottman Azaitar and the american Matt frevola.
That’s because Azaitar was released by the promotion on Friday after his camp violated Covid-19 protocols by bringing an unauthorized guest to the Fight Island bubble.
“He and his team cut off their wristbands and took them to the outsiders, one man,” UFC president Dana White told MMAJunkie.
“This guy got inside the bubble, entered a room, went down four balconies, crossed his balcony (of Azaitar) and left a bag of we don’t know what.
“Then he changed his clothes and came out of the bubble. We put it all on camera, we saw it all, how it all happened, we pulled their fight and cut it. “
Frevola instead fought Arman Tsarukyan after Armenian Nasrat Haqparast’s original opponent withdrew due to illness, losing a unanimous decision in three rounds.

Michael Chandler has made his UFC debut in spectacular fashion, scoring a spectacular first-round TKO of Dan hooker and score it with a back flip from the top of the octagon.
The official stoppage time by referee Mark Goddard was 2:30 in the first round.
Afterward, Chandler ran a lively promotion by calling in McGregor, Poirier and the retired lightweight champion. Khabib Nurmagomedov.

Scotland Joanne Calderwood has won a unanimous decision on Jessica Eye of the USA in their three-round women’s flyweight fight. The scores were 30-27 (twice) and 28-29.
“I like to make it difficult for me,” he says. “It’s the Scottish way.”
Calderwood’s sixth UFC victory could set the stage for a flyweight title shot against Valentina shevchenko.

Conor McGregor returns to action after a 12-month absence to face Dustin Poirier in tonight’s UFC 257 main event at the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi.
McGregor and Poirier first met in a featherweight fight in 2014 with the Irishman notching a knockout victory in less than two minutes.
