Ubisoft is removing its standalone achievements from its own launcher, starting with Assassin’s Creed Valhalla.
Eagle-eyed gamers noted the achievements, which were available in the recently released Watch Dogs Legion – were missing when it became apparent that there was no tab for achievements on the Valhalla page in Ubisoft Connect.
After fans contacted the officer Ubisoft forum For answers, the support team initially said that the missing Ubisoft Connect achievements were “unintentional” and that the team was “actively working to enable the achievements.”
However, a couple of days later, the team went back to the thread with an update that confirmed that it was, in fact, “an intentional change.”
“Achievements are not available for this title on PC, and this is an intentional change,” reported a company representative (thank you, PC Gamer). “Instead of achievements for new games on Ubisoft Connect, we have expanded Challenges, which provide XP and other rewards on Ubisoft Connect.
“We know this is a big change for many of you and we appreciate your understanding.”
Ubisoft notified us last month that it was updating your Ubisoft Club service for the new generation of consoles, renamed Ubisoft Connect. It is described as a social platform designed to integrate features such as loyalty points and friend lists into Ubisoft games, taking a page from the PS5 UI reveal and add suggestions to the list of functions.
“This more social and personalized gaming experience also comes with a newsfeed interface that brings together friends’ activities and achievements, while a new ‘Smart Intel’ feature gives gamers dedicated tips and video recommendations based on their gambling activities, “said the editor at the hour. “Each player will have access to data on their personal statistics and play style to further improve or compare with select groups of friends through an improved ranking system.”
There’s still a lot to be excited about in video games this year. Here are the 2020 upcoming games we really can’t wait.
