Tupac’s Family Says Trump Campaign ‘Disrespectful’ Over Debate Ticket Trick

Tupac Shakur’s stepbrother has criticized the Trump campaign for “disrespecting” the memory of his late brother after they issued a ticket for Tupac to attend the vice presidential debate, in a blow to Kamala Harris.

Harris has been ridiculed by Trump supporters, when asked in September who the best rapper alive was, replying, “Tupac.”

Tupac was shot dead in 1996 and died at age 25 in the middle of a war between rival gangs.

Mopreme Shakur told TMZ on Saturday that it was “clearly disrespectful” to his family that the campaign staged the ticket stunt.

However, he said he was not surprised.

“We should be aware of Trump’s lack of respect for the black and brown community,” he said.

And he said the family was flattered by Harris’s posthumous endorsement, saying it made sense because Harris, like Tupac, was from California.

Jason Miller, Trump’s senior campaign communications manager, had confirmed that a seat was being reserved for Tupac in the Oct. 7 debate.

“We have left a live ticket for Tupac Shakur, Senator Harris’ favorite rapper,” Miller said.

“Personally, I’m more of a Biggie fan, if he’s still alive, but we’ll have a ticket to Tupac.”

Rapper Biggie Smalls, an East Coast rival, was shot and killed a year after Tupac, in 1997.

Harris herself laughed at the mistake.

“Is not alive!” yelled Angela Rye, who was interviewing Harris and asked the question. “You say he’s still alive?”

Harris laughed and replied, “I don’t live, I know, I keep doing that.”

Rye jokingly defended the mistake, pointing to conspiracy theories that Tupac could be alive.

“Listen, the West Coast girls think Tupac is still alive; I’m with you, ”he said. “Then Tupac move on.”

“I keep doing that,” Harris repeated.

“Who would I tell? I mean there are so many, you know?

“There are some that I wouldn’t mention at this point because they should stay in their lane, but others …”

Rye laughed and replied, “I don’t know what that means …”

Harris, also laughing, told him to drop the question.

“Go on, go on, keep moving Angela.”
