The Trump campaign’s demand for a recount in Wisconsin’s largest county ended with President-elect Joe Biden winning even more votes there.

After the recount ended in Milwaukee County on Friday, Biden got an additional 257 votes to Donald Trump’s 125, giving the president-elect a net gain of 132 votes.

The new look at the ballots came after Trump lost Wisconsin to Biden by more than 20,000 votes. The count in a second county, Dane County, is expected to conclude on Sunday.

In a previously released excerpt, Krebs told CBS 60 Minutes that the Trump campaign’s allegations of foreign interference with American voting machines, as well as the tabulation of votes in foreign countries, were unfounded.

Trump alleged, without proof, that President-elect Joe Biden’s votes in Pennsylvania were created “out of thin air” in a tweet early Saturday morning.

The post, marked by Twitter as misleading, came hours after a federal court in Philadelphia dismissed its legal team’s challenge to the election result there.

Iran vows retaliation for assassination of prominent nuclear scientist

Iran’s supreme leader vowed on Saturday to retaliate for the assassination of the Islamic Republic’s top nuclear scientist, whom the West and Israel believed was the architect of a secret Iranian weapons program.

Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Iran’s highest authority who says Tehran has never sought nuclear weapons, also pledged in his statement on Twitter to continue the work of Mohsen Fakhrizadeh, who died on Friday after a gunman ambushed him in his car near Tehran.

The assassination, which Iran’s president quickly blamed on Israel, threatens to trigger a new confrontation in the Middle East in the final weeks of US President Donald Trump’s term.

It could also complicate any efforts by President-elect Joe Biden to revive a detente with Tehran that was forged when he was in the Barack Obama administration. Trump pulled Washington out of the 2015 international nuclear pact agreed with Tehran.

Mr Khamenei said in his Twitter post that Iranian officials must take on the task of “pursuing this crime and punishing its perpetrators and those who commanded it.”

Israel’s N12 news channel said Israeli embassies had been put on high alert after Iranian threats of retaliation. A spokesman for Israel’s Foreign Ministry said the minister did not comment on security regarding his representation abroad.

Israel has declined to comment on the killing. The White House, the Pentagon, the US State Department and the CIA also declined to comment, as did Biden’s transition team.
