LATEST NEWS – The Ethiopian Army has liberated several locations on the three fronts on its way to Mekele, the capital of the Tigray Region, where the leaders of the Tigray People’s Liberation Front (TPLF) who ordered to attack the northern command of the Ethiopian army a few weeks ago are in hiding.
On the Adwa front, the army has liberated the cities of Hawzen, Abreha Weatsebeha and Wukro. The army is currently heading to Messobe, the last mountain before the city of Mekele. Once the Ethiopian army controls Messobe Mountain, it will be easy to enter the city of Mekele, according to Lieutenant General Hassen Ibrahim, an officer with the Ethiopian National Defense Force.
He also claimed that in the other direction of the Adigrat Front, the Ethiopian army that liberated the city of Daga Hamus before the 72-hour ultimatum, has liberated the cities of Sinkata and Al Negash during the last 24 hours. On the other front from Raya, the Ethiopian army has liberated the cities of AdiKeye, AdiMesano and Hewane. Currently, the Raya Front army has completed the part of the mountain and has taken control of the strategic area to go to Mekele.
“This shows that the battle is drawing to a close in its final chapter,” General Hassen said at a press conference an hour ago. He noted that a new final battle plan was drawn up on how to enter Mekele and capture the culprits in the coming days.
