The Tigray Region Interim Administration revealed the names of the new cabinet members who will be part of the administration until the next elections, which are expected to take place in about a year if all goes well.
The head of the region’s administration office, Gebremeskel Kassa, told the Ethiopian News Agency, EBC reported, that eleven of the sixteen cabinet members have started work.
Furthermore, the report says that cabinet members who have not yet started work are expected to start in the coming weeks. It is not specified why they were unable to begin working with the rest of the cabinet.
The list of cabinet members appointed to the interim administration and their functions is as follows:
1) Kahsay Birhanu (Head of Finance Office)
2) Alula Habteab (Head of the transport and road construction office)
3) Sand Amdeselassie (head of the health office)
4) Abera Nigussie (head of the Justice Office)
5) Etenesh Nigussie (Head of the Government Communication Affairs Office)
6) Yosef Tesfay (Head of Commerce, Industry and Urban Development)
7) Tesfaye Solomon (director of the education office)
8) Gebrehiwot Legesse (Head of the Water Research and Design Office)
9) Solomon Abera (Head of the Office of Water Resources)
10) Abraha Desta (Head of the Office of Social Justice)
11) Gebremeskel Kassa (Head of the Interim Administration Office)
