When it came to pre-orders or launch day assignments, it was pretty easy to predict your next opportunities to get a PS5 or Xbox Series X. Stocks came in in big waves, mostly the biggest for pre-orders and launch day. . Now that these things are released, it will surely be a bit more spread out, and not necessarily limited to those big events. That may be hard to see coming, but there is one of those big events coming up.
So far, we know that GameStop and Best Buy will have PS5 / Xbox Series X + S stock on Black Friday, and I’m guessing we’ll see similar notifications from other retailers once they run their Black Friday ads. Note that even though Black Friday is a sale-centric holiday, we don’t expect any discounts on these newly released pieces of hardware. However, when the new consoles cost $ 1000 on eBay, the MSRP starts to look like a great deal anyway.
So keep an eye out for Thanksgiving, which is November 26, and Black Friday, which is November 27. In the US at least, I would be very surprised if we saw substantial options in person for this holiday, considering the lightning pace at which new coronavirus cases are increasing.
