Despite several new features implemented by Facebook-owned WhatsApp in 2020, more exciting features are expected to be introduced in 2021.

Although several changes are expected in 2021, these are the three main features that we can expect.

WhatsApp web to get voice, video call

WhatsApp will introduce the voice and video calling option for the desktop version of the messaging app next year.

The move to facilitate large-screen calling would put WhatsApp on par with video conferencing staples Zoom and Google Meet, but it’s unclear whether it has the ambition to compete with the two in the enterprise space.

WhatsApp said it already rolled out the feature for some desktop users on a trial basis in time for the holiday season, a move first reported by tech blog WABetaInfo.

Paste multiple videos, photos

The beta update for iOS 2.21.10.23, which is expected to be available to all users soon, allows users to paste multiple images and videos on WhatsApp.

How to paste images?

Select multiple images from the Photos app

Now, press “Export” and now “Copy”

Open WhatsApp and paste the content in the chat bar.

WhatsApp Terms and Privacy Policy

WhatsApp users will need to accept their new Terms and Privacy Policy in 2021, and if they don’t, you may need to delete your account, according to WABetaInfo.

WhatsApp will reportedly update its terms of service starting February 8, although the date is subject to change.
