With the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations Rankings coming to an end, there are teams that have already confirmed their place in the top continental competition that is scheduled for Cameroon in 2022.

Tunisia became the last team to confirm qualification after their 1-1 draw against Tanzania on Tuesday night.

Tunisia took the lead after just 11 minutes through Marseille’s Seifeddine Khaoui, but substitute Feisal Salum found parity restored just two minutes after the restart with a surprising blow.

The draw was enough for Tunisia to confirm their place in Cameroon as they are now guaranteed a top two result, thanks to their 1-0 win over Tanzania last Friday. Tanzania is in third place with four points, two behind Equatorial Guinea in second place with Libya still with a chance despite being at the end with three points.

In the other matches, Mali secured their place in an eighth consecutive Nations Cup final with a close and close 2-1 victory over host Namibia; all three goals from Tuesday’s Group A game came in the first 40 minutes of the game.

The two teams join Senegal and Algeria, which previously qualified with the teams that joined host Cameroon as the teams that reserved a spot in the tournament that was advanced to 2022.

Qualified teams

  • Cameroon (hosts)
  • Algeria
  • Mali
  • Tunisia
