the Samsung Galaxy Tab Active 3 it’s finally available in the US as a B2B tablet that’s rugged enough with new features and specs suitable for workplaces that might be a bit tougher than.
The Galaxy Tab Active 3, which was launched in other regions in late 2020, is a version of the 8-inch Samsung Galaxy Tab A tablet, although it has some differences. Notably, the Active 3 has three physical buttons on the front, easier to press with gloves or in more adverse weather conditions, and a removable 5,050 mAh battery that can be accessed via the back plate.
That backplate is attached to a rugged, case-like exterior (which Samsung calls an ‘Inbox Cover’), which has hardened edges and a slot at the top of the phone, which houses a dust-resistant version and to the water of the Samsung S Pen stylus. The right side has the rest of the buttons on the tablet: a power button, a volume control button and a ‘hot key’ for instant access to the most used applications or programs.

The Active 3 has an 8-inch PLS TFT LCD screen with Full HD resolution (1920 x 1200) with a ratio of 16:10. There is a 13 MP rear camera and a 5 MP front camera, with a single SIM microSD slot. The battery can be removed for vehicle-mounted use.
You’ll pay a slightly hefty price for the Active 3: $ 489 (around £ 358 / AU $ 633) for the WiFi-only version and $ 589 / £ 539 (around AU $ 763) for the LTE version. That’s a noticeably higher cost than the Tab A, which costs $ 329 / £ 249 (around AU $ 470) for WiFi only and the LTE version costs $ 419 / £ 299 (around AU $ 600).
