We were originally promised OxygenOS 11 for the OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7T in December, but then the update was delayed. Now, OnePlus has revealed that a beta version of OxygenOS 11 will be available very soon for those devices and the OnePlus Nord.
First things first: The first open beta of OxygenOS 11 will be available for OnePlus Nord sometime next week. Once the beta is up to the company’s standards, it will proceed to release a stable version, OnePlus said.
As for the OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7T, the company said that work on a beta version of OxygenOS 11 is still progressing.
As you may have heard, when migrating Android 11 to the 7 and 7T series, we encountered a data decryption problem on these devices. We work closely with Qualcomm and, with their support, we are already running a closed beta test.
Although OnePlus does not have an exact deadline, the company said that the first OxygenOS 11 open beta for the OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7T will be released shortly. Hopefully that means within a month. With work already underway on a closed beta, we expect a release to come sooner rather than later.
While beta versions should be available for these devices soon, OnePlus cautioned that things could fluctuate. The proposed schedule will also vary based on the model you purchased and from which carrier, including Verizon, T-Mobile, and others.
“However, we will work closely with [carrier partners] to bring you the best OxygenOS 11 experience at the earliest date possible, so stay tuned for the official announcement of the actual launch, ”said OnePlus.
Once those dates are revealed, we’ll be sure to let you know. If that’s not enough, OnePlus has a lot more on its plate to come. The company is preparing to launch a fitness tracker and smartwatch, while the launch of the OnePlus 9 is imminent.
