The new surprise iPhone could be wireless charging only

[ad_1]

Apple is slated to launch a wireless charging-only model (either this year or next) of its flagship iPhone Pro range.

This rumor is supported by the news that all iPhone 12 models this year will come with an array of magnetic rings on the back of the device. These rings are believed to be in place to allow Apple’s wireless chargers to “snap” into place.

Those magnets will be powerful enough to ensure that Apple’s fast-charging technology can hold the phone well, as well as function as a phone holder or a better way to secure cases to the device.

This is not the first time that Apple has embraced the use of magnets in its devices. The iPad Pro has many magnets on the back, allowing it to attach to the Apple Magic Keyboard securely.

It is believed that this year’s iPhones will not come with regular chargers. By including this wireless charging technology, it is believed to be Apple’s way of testing the waters before announcing a wireless-only model next year.

However, this could have serious consequences for third-party case developers. It is believed that Apple’s proprietary magnetic ring design might not work with a non-Apple approved case on the back of your device.

Only time will tell if this rumor materializes, but we won’t have to wait too long: Apple is slated to send out invitations to its annual iPhone extravaganza imminently.
