Google released a whole new set of icons (uggo) for Gmail, Calendar, Drive, Docs, and Meet last month, and now it’s Keep’s turn. As teased in early October, Google’s much-loved in-app note service just picked up a new icon on the desktop site, and we must assume the app will follow.
Behold. Left: Ancient icon. Right: New icon.
The new icon uses a similar color but replaces the old outlined bulb with a stylized, filled version. The dog-eared corner has been moved from the bottom right to the top right, more in line with the Google Docs icon. However, its appearance may vary slightly in different locations and the site’s favicon loses its dog ear. Still, Keep somehow escaped the eye-catching four-color redesign that Google inflicted on the rest of its services.

The change is active on the current version of the Google Keep desktop site, with both the logo in the corner and the site favicon. They have slightly different shapes, but they both have the same colors and the same light bulb icon. It is not yet available in the Gmail sidebar and it has not been rolled out to the mobile app yet, but we must assume it will arrive.
Android app gets the new icon
The Keep app for Android also just picked up the new icon:
We can confirm that application v5.20.441.01 triggers the change. A slightly earlier version, also released today, included changes that updated the iconography within the app, but this latest version changes the system icon to match the new logo that was released to the web two days ago.
The update is likely in the process of rolling out, but if you want to jump to the head of the line, you can do so by removing it early on on our sister site APK Mirror.
