The Medium is an exclusive horror game for Xbox Series X | S and PC, developed by Blooper Team.

On social media, the developers posted a statement about the delay:
After much thought and careful consideration, today we have made the difficult decision to delay the launch of The Medium until January 28, 2021. It was not an easy decision to make, but it was made due to the COVID-19 situation in Poland. . , as well as the current schedule of other games on the market. The Blooper team remains committed to delivering our largest, most ambitious and fear-inspiring experience to date.
The additional development time will allow us to polish even further, ensuring that we deliver our genre and innovative take on psychological horror interacting. Rest assured that the delay will not prevent us from sharing information with you, and you can expect us to unravel some more layers of the great mystery of The Medium soon. “
The reason for the delay
It definitely looks like Cyberpunk 2077 is the reason for the delay.
Cyberpunk 2077 was originally scheduled for release on November 19, before being delayed the following month.
The game is one of the most anticipated titles of 2020 and its launch on the same day would definitely hamper The Medium’s sales and likely make it a forgotten title.
Although it means The Medium will miss out on potential holiday sales, it is likely to sell better overall by launching during a less crowded period.
