Call of Duty: Warzone’s First Halloween Event – The curse of Verdansk – is about to begin, Activision and Infinity Ward have confirmed.
According to a press release from the publisher, the SAW universes and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre collide to become part of The Haunting of Verdansk, a limited-time community event that will run from October 20 to November 3.
The Haunting of Verdansk will introduce a new “Trick or Treat” reward system to the game for the duration of the event, containing “scares” or “terribly good blueprints and customization items.” These loot-filled boxes will be found in specific areas of the Verdansk map and will contain items such as the epic assault rifle blueprint “Return to Dust”, the legendary melee blueprint “The Cleaver”, a holographic watch, charms, stickers, aerosol sprays. , calling cards and emblems.
You can see the first trailer for the upcoming event included below.
If you’ve ever wanted to jump into the game and play as characters from SAW or The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, you’re in luck. From the start of the event, you can purchase a SAW pack that will allow you to equip a Billy the Puppet skin for Morte through the SAW pack, or a Texas Chainsaw Massacre pack that will allow you to equip a Leatherface skin on Velikan. Each package also comes with other bonuses according to their franchises, and you can read all about them here.
New layouts and blueprints will also be available to other operators in the game when the event begins
The new event will also feature a nighttime variant of the Verdansk map that includes some “Halloween scares” yet to be revealed. Thermal Optics and Cold-Blooded will be a blessing in this mode, for sure.
Also, a new mode called Zombie Royale will be added to the game until November 3. The mode is Infinity Ward’s spooky take on the usual Battle Royale setup, where dead operators can employ the use of “unnatural powers” on living players to return to the land of the living.
If you like your traditional Call of Duty multiplayer more than the Battle Royale side, Infinity Ward has you covered too. Limited-time modes (Juggernauts and Sniper Rifles) and an operator’s head that turns into a pumpkin when you get three kills (yes, actually) are part of the deal here.
Activision has not specified a time for the event to begin.
