As the trailer progresses and the characters are introduced, the narrator can be heard saying, “Here’s the stuff that fairy tales are made of: a prince and a princess on their wedding day. But fairy tales generally end at this point, with the simple phrase, ‘They lived happily ever after.’
However, the narrator adds that his faith does not see the wedding day as the place of arrival, but as the place where the adventure begins. According to a report on CNN Quoting Netflix, costume designer Amy Robert modeled Diana’s wedding dress after the original, but wanted to create something that wasn’t entirely a replica.
Variety reports that the new season will follow in the footsteps of season 3, which ended in the late 1970s in Queen Elizabeth’s 25 years as sovereign leader of the United Kingdom. The main focus of the season will be how the queen and her family are concerned with the line of succession and thus securing the right bride for Prince Charles.
Olivia Colman returns in her role as Queen Elizabeth for the second year in a row, while Tobias Menzies will play Prince Philip. Josh O’Connor returns as Prince Charles and Helena Bonham Carter once again playing Princess Margaret. Ahead of the trailer release, Netflix also teased the show’s return on Twitter with some first-look photos for the upcoming season, along with the caption, “Change is coming. November 15,” hinting at the premiere date of The crown season 4.
